Flutist, arranger and composer, Antonio Rocha began his musical studies at the age of 8. He is conductor of the band “Sociedade Musical Progresso de Valença”; founder of the “Camerata Valenciana”; flutist of the group “Amigos do Choro”; 2nd flute of the “Brazilian Youth Symphonic Orchestra”; finalist of the “3rd Weril Award”; conductor of the “Coral XV de Agosto”. He has been on shows and recordings with Mauricio Carrilho, Pedro Amorim, Hermínio Bello de Carvalho, Afonso Machado, Zélia Duncan, Simone, Zezé Gonzaga, Agnaldo Rayol, Deo Rian, Bruno Rian, Pedro Paes, Célia Vaz and Paulo Aragão, among others. He also plays with the group Época de Ouro.

A percussionist, coming from a family closed linked to choro – he is Jorginho do Pandeiro’s son and Dino 7 Cordas’ nephew – Celsinho Silva began his professional career with Os Carioquinhas in 1977. In 1978 he founded the group Nó em Pingo D’Água. In 1979 he recorded, with Camerata Carioca, the album “Tribute to Jacob do Bandolim”. With Nó em Pingo D’Água he recently recorded an album dedicated to the work of Paulinho da Viola. He has been playing with great musicians, like Elizeth Cardoso, Chico Buarque, Ney Matogrosso, João Bosco, Radamés Gnattali, Conjunto Época de Ouro, Turibio Santos and Ivan Lins, among others. Since 1980 he has been part of Paulinho da Viola’s band. Celsinho is also one of the founders of Escola Portátil de Música.

One of the leading pianists, composers and arrangers in Brazil nowadays, Cristovão Bastos is a musical partner of Chico Buarque, Paulo César Pinheiro, Aldir Blanc, Paulinho da Viola, Elton Medeiros and many others. As arranger he has worked in albums and shows of musicians like Nana Caymmi, Edu Lobo, Gal Costa etc. During a career of almost 40 years, he has received lots of awards. In 1996 Cristovão released his first solo album, “Avenida Brasil”. He teaches piano and accordion at Escola Portátil.

Cavaquinho player, arranger, composer, Composition graduate at Uni-Rio. Jayme is one of the members of Água de Moringa, with which has recorded 3 CDs . He played with several artists, like Paulinho da Viola, Raphael Rabello, and others. At Escola Portátil, he teaches cavaquinho and is one of the responsible for the Camerata Portátil.

Luciana Rabello has had a professional career as cavaquinho player since 1976. She is also a composer and producer, and a direct heir of cavaquinho masters Canhoto and Jonas. Luciana is a founder of Acari Records and Escola Portátil de Música. Over the years she played in recordings and concerts with Paulo César Pinheiro, João Nogueira, Paulinho da Viola, Radamés Gnattali, Raphael Rabello, Elizeth Cardoso and Chico Buarque, among others. Her first solo album was released in 2000 by Acari Records.

Guitarist graduated in music education at Uni-Rio. Luiz Flavio is a member of the group Água de Moringa. In 2003, with clarinetist Lena Verani, recorded an album dedicated to the work of composer and pianist Ernesto Nazareth. In the same year he joined the project recovering the work of Radamés Gnattali and converting it to digital files. Alcofra was a member of Orquestra de Cordas Brasileiras, Camerata Gama Filho, directed by Paulo Sérgio Santos, and Orquestra de Violões Chiquinha Gonzaga, directed by Mauricio Carrilho.

A Composition graduate with Master’s in Musicology at Uni-Rio, Marcílio Lopes studied composition with Guerra-Peixe. A mandolinist and arranger, he is a member of Água de Moringa and joined other important instrumental groups, such as Orquestra de Música Brasileira, Orquestra de Cordas Brasileiras, Camerata Gama-Filho and Camerata Brasil. He also plays regularly in concerts and studios. At Escola Portátil Marcílio teaches Harmony and is one the directors of Camerata Portátil.
